Recently, I was fortunate enough to follow some friends around Oregon as their band did a 3 town mini-tour. (See The Colin Trio.) First, we drove south to Grant’s Pass. The next day we drove to McKenzie Pass before playing the final show in Bend.

After spending the night in Grant’s Pass, I drove to Crater Lake, a sight I’ve always wanted to see ever since learning about it in first grade.

We camped outside in the Williamette National Forest after the Mckenzie Pass show. The next morning we left for Bend by way of the Mckenzie Highway, which is a pass between Mt. Jefferson and South Sister thats only open in the summer months. I witnessed miles and miles of lava fields, which I find absolutely fascinating!

This short but very sweet road trip was truly unique, and an experience I hope to remember for a long time.
