Summary

I am a seasoned web developer located in Portland, Oregon. I wrote my first lines of HTML and CSS in 1999 and now I am a javascript ninja, fully capable of producing CSS box layouts, DOM manipulation, form validation, and AJAX widgets. My daily practice involves learning javascript libraries like jQuery and ExtJS, employing HTML and SEO Best Practices, and communicating knowledge of W3C Standards and Cross Browser Compatibility issues. I am a process oriented employee who works well in team environments, but also enjoys working independently. Though experienced and versed in server-side web development roles, I find client-side web developing much more fulfilling. My previous employers include federal and state government agencies where Section 508 Compliance and W3C Standard Compliant webpages were top priority. My most recent experience includes client-side development for an enterprise level customer base.

Employment History

Independent Contractor

(2007 – Present)

I have worked developing and designing band websites, online literary magazines, and personal websites for working professionals during my time as an independent contractor. I work by myself or on virtual teams in a variety of hosting environments. I am comfortable working in to ASP.Net MVC and WordPress environments.

Though I have learned a great deal of patience and self disiplined while contracting, I work best when I can throw my entire efforts to a single organization, working full time.

Web Developer

Dealerskins / Dominion Dealer Solutions

(July, 2007 – September, 2014)

During my seven year employment with Dealerskins / Dominion, I performed client-side support of over 500 responsive websites in an enterprise-level content management system. I used HTML, CSS, and javascript daily to perform support requests and fix errors, all while ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility. In addition to my daily responsibilities, I often employed jQuery to create custom plugins and perform complicated DOM manipulations.

Client-side Web Developer

Reynolds Web Solutions

(October, 2005 – June, 2007)

While at Reynolds Web Solutions, I assisted a web support team in maintaining 6,000 live industry-specific web sites by accomplishing support tasks involving client-side development, graphic design and site administration. I was also a core contributor of a project that automated most all content development. This project significantly increased the organic search rankings of sites while also increasing web production volume by 50%.

Webmaster

DEVELOP Internship Program at NASA

(October, 2004 – August, 2005)

I participated in a nationwide student-led internship program called DEVELOP. My resonsibilities included developing and maintaining the internship’s website. The website itself adhered to NASA’s strict branding standards and Section 508 Compliancy. I coordinated with project managers to develop unique and engaging presentations of the program’s accomplishments.

Assistant to Webmaster

(April, 2002 – October, 2004)
